Dato’ Mohd Ali was appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 January 2019.
Dato’ Mohd Ali was with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad for 36 years until his retirement as Chief Operating Officer in 2008. As a career banker, Dato’ Mohd Ali has extensive experience in regional and branch management and has developed core competencies in Corporate Banking and Banking Operations.
Dato’ Mohd Ali was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of RHB Bank Berhad in January 2011 and retired in January 2016. He was also an Independent Non-Executive Director of RHB Islamic Bank Berhad from January 2011 to February 2017. Presently Dato’ Mohd Ali is the Chairman of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad as well as director of a private limited company.
Dato’ Mohd Ali is an alumnus of Royal Military College, Sungai Besi. He obtained his professional banking qualification from Institute of Bankers of United Kingdom and holds a Diploma in Investment Analysis from Malaysian Association of Productivity.
Dato’ Mohd Ali attended numerous technical, management and leadership courses notably, the Cranfield School of Management United Kingdom, Harvard University Summer School, Boston and Stanford University San Francisco, California.
