Affin Hwang Capital Shares Ramadhan Kurma with Front-liners at KPJ Damansara

·       Affin Hwang Capital, in line with its community engagement initiative to support, empower and sustain, distributed Ramadhan Kurma Gifts to the front-liners of KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital in appreciation of their tireless fight against COVID-19 going into the holy month of Ramadhan.

·       Affin Hwang Capital salutes all front-liners for their relentless effort to serve patients in fighting COVID-19 and who pioneered new attitudes to healthcare in this country to overcoming this global pandemic.

PETALING JAYA, 23 April 2020 – With the holy month of Ramadhan fast approaching, Affin Hwang Capital (“the Bank”) distributed over 250 Ramadhan Kurma Gifts to Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (“KPJ”), Damansara Specialist Hospital front-liners as they relentlessly continue to serve and treat medical patients whilst risking their own safety during this COVID-19 pandemic.

During the handover event at the hospital, Yip Kit Weng, Deputy Group Managing Director of the Bank said, “The medical fraternity has showed the nation the tremendous and noble work they have done over the past 3-4 months, putting their own lives and safety at risk, in facing the COVID-19 outbreak head-on.”

He added, “As we rejoice the coming of the holy month of Ramadan, we would also like to take this opportunity to indulge medical front-liners who may have to fast while continuing their tireless fight against the outbreak to late in the day, with the traditional breaking of fast with Kurma. We salute these ‘super-men & women’ in their call of duty to fight this pandemic and hope that we will all be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.”

Fawziah Muhammad, Chief Executive Officer of KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital, who received the Ramadhan Kurma Gift on behalf of the hospital said, “We deeply appreciate and thank Affin Hwang Capital for this very timely generosity and support to our Muslim colleagues. These are indeed trying times, however we are all committed in this fight against the pandemic, and we will continue to persevere and perform our level best until it is over.”

“One of our initiative is the “drive-thru” COVID-19 tests which do not require prior appointments. The tests are endorsed by the Ministry of Health and we hope this will help detect positive cases early and thus minimise any potential new outbreaks,” she added.

Prior to this, Affin Hwang Capital, together with Affin Bank Berhad Group, donated RM1.0 million to the federal government’s COVID-19 Fund. The Bank also donated RM250,000 towards The Edge’s COVID-19 Fund and recently contributed a Direct Donation of RM100,000 to Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

PETALING JAYA, 23 April 2020 – Menjelang ketibaan bulan Ramadhan, Affin Hwang Capital mengedarkan lebih 250 bungkusan hadiah kurma Ramadhan kepada petugas-petugas barisan hadapan Hospital Pakar Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ), Damansara sebagai tanda penghargaan atas dedikasi mereka menjalankan tugas merawat dan menjaga pesakit-pesakit disamping bertarung nyawa memerangi wabak COVID-19.

Semasa sesi penyerahan hadiah kurma Ramadhan di hospital tersebut, Yip Kit Weng, Timbalan Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan Affin Hwang Capital berkata, “Petugas-petugas perubatan telah membuktikan betapa luar biasa dan mulia kerja-kerja yang telah dilaksanakan dalam tempoh tiga hingga empat bulan yang lalu untuk membasmi penularan wabak COVID-19 disamping bertarung nyawa dan keselamatan mereka."

“Bersempena sambutan bulan Ramadhan, kami ingin mengambil kesempatan ini untuk menzahirkan penghargaan kepada petugas-petugas barisan hadapan yang akan menjalani ibadah berpuasa sambil menjalankan tugas sehingga lewat malam dengan juadah buah kurma untuk santapan berbuka puasa. Kami amat menghargai jasa dan pengorbanan “wira tak didendang” dalam memerangi wabak ini dan berharap agar kita semua dapat menjalani kehidupan seperti hari sebelumnya."

Fawziah Muhammad, Ketua Pengawai Eksekutif, Hospital Pakar KPJ Damansara berkata, “Kami amat menghargai dan berterima kasih kepada Affin Hwang Capital atas sumbangan dan sokongan kepada rakan-rakan setugas yang akan menjalani ibadah berpuasa pada tahun ini dalam situasi memerangi pandemik COVID-19. Kami akan kekal dan cekal dalam komitmen membasmi penularan wabak ini bersama-sama petugas barisan hadapan sehingga keadaan pulih."

“Salah satu inisiatif pihak hospital adalah ujian pandu-lalu COVID-19 yang tidak memerlukan temu janji. Ujian ini telah disahkan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan dan kami berharap ianya dapat membantu mengesan kes positif lebih awal dan mengurangkan kemungkinan penularan kes baharu," katanya.

Affin Hwang Capital bersama-sama Affin Bank Berhad Group telah memberi sumbangan sebanyak RM1,000,000 kepada Tabung COVID-19 Kerajaan. Bank itu juga menyumbang sebanyak RM250,000 kepada Tabung COVID-19 The Edge dan RM100,000 kepada Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
